Job Description Summary:
As a Healthcare-focused Interior Designer at Viibe, you will play a pivotal role in creating environments that promote healing, accessibility, and operational efficiency for healthcare clients. You will lead projects from conception through completion, including schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors, you will ensure every project reflects the highest standards of design excellence tailored to healthcare environments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Healthcare Programming & Planning: Develop and refine space planning and design solutions specifically tailored to healthcare facilities, incorporating patient-centered design principles.
- Design Leadership: Lead design direction including but not limited to lighting layouts, furniture selection, and finish specifications, ensuring designs meet healthcare regulatory standards.
- Design Documentation: Develop full interior design document sets from schematic design to design development to construction documentation.
- Project Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact between clients, contractors, and the project team to maintain seamless communication and project alignment.
- Regulatory Expertise: Integrate knowledge of healthcare codes, guidelines, and standards (e.g., FGI Guidelines) into design processes.
- Construction Administration: Review submittals, RFIs, and substitution requests to ensure project quality and compliance.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Apply sustainable design strategies, including LEED and WELL standards, to enhance the environmental and health outcomes of healthcare facilities.
- Client Engagement: Prepare and present design concepts to healthcare clients, articulating how design solutions support patient and staff needs.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in interior design, with at least 3 years focused on healthcare environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and construction management software (e.g., Procore).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare-specific standards and guidelines, such as FGI Guidelines, ADA compliance, and infection control practices.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively lead client meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Travel: Ability to travel as needed for site visits and client meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications:
- Certified Healthcare Interior Designer (CHID)
- NCIDQ certification
- LEED Green Associate or AP, WELL AP certification
- Professional Memberships: Active membership in IIDA, ASID, or similar professional organizations.
- Healthcare Design Portfolio: Demonstrated experience in creating evidence-based, patient-focused environments.

Working Conditions:
